OREO PIE
I first posted this super delicious oreo pie a few years ago to the blog. I can happily say that is has been made several times over again. To say my family loves this oreo cream pie would be an understatement.

We are basically obsessed with it!

The post has been updated with a new recipe video to show how easy it is to make oreo cream pie. Original post is below. Enjoy friends and thanks for being here!
So this pie has a funny story. We were having a church Christmas party and I had signed up to bring a salad. I brought this Bacon & Mandarin Broccoli Salad —> super delish and one of my faves! And I also signed up to bring a pie.

I’ve been dreaming up this pie in my head. Do you ever do that? Where you create recipes in your head? Just me, ok 🙂 Well, I day-dream about food and recipes and this Oreo Cream Pie was born because of that!

I thought that there is no way people want a cream pie in winter and especially for a Christmas party. People want a hearty & rich pecan pie or the traditional pumpkin pie.

Long story short, I made the pie because it was no-bake and literally takes minutes to come together, and it was gone within like 5 minutes + it was the only dessert that was gone. So, needless to say this pie is really good and a crowd pleaser.

It’s so incredibly delicious and one of those recipes I love because it’s so easy to make!

My son even asks for this as his birthday cake. It just happens to be his favorite dessert. Can’t say that I blame him because if you like Oreo cookies even a little then you will LOVE this cream pie. It’s loaded with Oreo cookies.

In the crust, in the cream pie filling, and on top too!

Ingredients
·          2 (14.3 oz) packages of oreos - divided, listed in instructions
·          1 stick butter, melted
·          two, 8 oz packages of cream cheese, softened
·          1 cup powdered sugar
·          1 tsp vanilla extract
·          1 container Cool Whip (8 oz), thawed
·          1 & 1/2 cup chocolate chips
·          1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
OREO CRUST
1.        Process 1 entire package of oreos in a food processor until fine crumbs remain. In a large bowl, combine the crushed oreos with the melted butter. Press this mixture evenly into a 10 inch pie pan. Place in fridge until ready to use.
FILLING
1.        In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until well blended. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beat again.
2.        Chop 12 oreos. Mix in the the chopped oreos and cool whip and stir with a spatula until mixed. Spread this mixture on the crust and place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
CHOCOLATE GANACHE
1.        Place chocolate chips in a medium heat-proof bowl.
2.        In a small pot over low heat, heat the heavy cream until just before boiling.
3.        Pour the heavy cream over the chocolate chips. Allow the mixture to stand for 1-2 minutes.
4.        Use a spatula to stir the mixture until smooth.
5.        Allow the ganache to come to room temperature before adding it to the pie.
TOPPING
1.        Before the chocolate hardens, add oreos to the top. Start by adding the halved oreos around the edges, placing them as close or as far apart as you want. Then add chopped oreos to the center of the pie.
2.        Cover the pie with tinfoil and return to the freezer or fridge for 1-2 hours. Before serving, remove the pie from the freezer and let it sit for a few minutes to make cutting it easier. Cover and freeze or refrigerate any leftovers.
