Word of caution –
these are super ADDICTIVE! You won’t just get enough of these truly crispy oven
baked chicken tenders. The Parmesan Panko bread crumb coating gives that super
crispy outer crusts and when it comes to crispy chicken recipe, the outer
crispy crust makes it the BEST!
Confession –
I can eat all the crust and just the crust. And I’m satisfied. Yes those the
best thing in the world, crispy Parmesan crust! And I don’t feel ashamed to
stuff my face with this baked chicken tenders, because this is not going to mess
with my waist line.
Serve is just as it is in dip-able finger food
with a killer marinara sauce or for your quick and
easy weeknight dinner alongside salads, pasta or rice.
My family is crazy about fried food. And
when they start discussing about their favorite fast food joint to line up for
fried chicken, the mom (read as health freak) in me most
time want to disapprove their idea, I believe in home cooked meal and you will
rarely see fried food on my menu. Though I let them go ahead and enjoy their
favorite fast food, there are many days I tell will make at home. And in mind I
secretly plan to bake (no deep frying). Parmesan crusted chicken does not
disappoint.
Ingredients
- 8 chicken tenders , raw
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons of water
- canola or non-fat cooking spray
- For the dredge coating:
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper , more or less to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese

Instructions
- Combine the dredge coating ingreadients in a bowl big enough to fit the chicken pieces.
- In a second bowl large enough for dredging, place egg and water and whisk to combine.
- Dip chicken tenders into the egg wash and then into the panko dredge mixture.
- Place the breaded tenders into the fry basket. Repeat with remaining tenders.
- Place the Fry Basket into the Power Air Fryer XL.
- Spray a light coat of canola oil of non-fat cooking spray over the panko.
- Press the M button. Scroll to the French Fries Icon.
- Press the Power Button. Adjust cooking time to 12 minutes at 400 degrees.
- Halfway through cooking, flip the tenders over.
